Logistics

Mexico City is best reached by air, arriving at the Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX), which offers many direct and affordable flights from major cities in the Americas and Europe. Upon landing, use authorized airport taxis, ride-shares, or public Metrobus lines for budget-friendly transport into the city center.

Long-distance buses are another good option if you’re traveling from other parts of Mexico; top bus terminals like TAPO and Norte feature reliable, comfortable buses. Trains and boats do not directly serve the city, but intercity buses and domestic flights cover most needs. In March, weather is generally mild and dry, keeping travel logistics smooth for digital nomads.

Weather

Mexico City enjoys a mild, subtropical highland climate thanks to its elevation of over 2,200 meters (7,200 ft). Most of the year is pleasantly temperate, with warm days, cooler nights, and a distinct dry season from November to April, followed by a rainy season that typically starts in May and lasts through October.

From March 16 to March 22, you can expect warm, sunny days (around 23°C/73°F) and crisp, cooler evenings. Rain is rare at this time, and extreme weather events are highly unlikely. This is an ideal season to explore the city’s rich arts scene, gastronomy, lively nightlife, vibrant festivals, and countless sightseeing tours.

Food & Drink

Mexico City is famous for its street food like tacos al pastor, tamales, chilaquiles, and aguas frescas, as well as traditional drinks such as mezcal and pulque. Don’t miss local markets like Mercado de Coyoacán or Mercado Roma for an affordable taste of authentic flavors and great people-watching.

For a mid-range meal, try El Califa or Taquería Orinoco for tacos, and Café Nin or Panadería Rosetta for coffee and pastries. Many cafes offer Wi-Fi and a relaxed vibe ideal for digital nomads. Trendy bars in Roma and Condesa, like Limantour, serve creative cocktails.

Tipping about 10–15% is customary in restaurants. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are increasingly available, but always ask. Mexico City’s tap water is not potable, so stick to bottled or filtered water.

Accommodation

For digital nomads, top neighborhoods are Roma, Condesa, and Polanco—each lively, walkable, and packed with cafés. Hotels like Hotel Geneve (Roma) and Hotel Condesa DF offer style, good Wi-Fi, and comfort. For apartment-style stays, check listings in Juárez or La Roma for great value and local experiences.

Always start your search with Hotels.com to find attractive rates and flexible bookings. For March 16–22, book early, as this popular travel week can mean busier accommodations. Mexico City rarely has resorts, but serviced apartments, boutique hotels, and short-term rentals are plentiful and excellent for getting work done in inspiring spaces.

The kitchen is not my job, it's my world.
